3. The Reunion - Immence Ranges of High Mountains
Lyrics
SACAJAWEA
I go with Clark and his men,
Who do not know
Lewis has met my people,
Smoked the pipe with them
and returns to find us.

CHORUS
She know s the land is home
Her heart is soaring
her feet are flying
across the sagebrush,
through the meadows,
along the creeks,
And then,
it is her friend ahead.
They were captured together.
She was the one
who broke away
Unable to live
if not with her people
Now both are home.

Embrace and weep together
Two hears, two spirits,
One lost, one found,
two friends embrace in joy.

But wait, there is more.
The chief called Cameahwait,
"in the shade of willows,"
Smokes the pipe of peace
Of friendship
pale and dark skinned men together.
And Sacajawea joins them
the only one
there to interpret.

SACAJAWEA
When in ther person of this chief
came my greatest joy,
The reunion of chance.
The gifts of life.
In this man I find my brother.

CHORUS
Her brother.

SACAJAWEA
And then the sorrow
to learn our family is all dead.
I am lost now
in this my home
but for the son of my sister
whom I take for my own.
Only we remain,
Cameawait, this child and I.
What does this portend?

These men,
my husband and the others
they are my family now.
